52 for 52 - Week 11
Week 11
This week was definitely a slower start. By Sunday, I had only 23 contacts, and I wasn't 100% sure I could meet my 52-contact goal. I decided to make a POTA activation at Ocean Lake to make up the difference and see what I could come up with. Unfortunately, I didn't reach my 52 this week, and this marks the first week I haven't met my target. So...I guess it was bound to happen at some point, and it did. At least I was able to still makeĀ
Interesting or Notable Contacts
One of the interesting contacts I made this week was via FT8 on 20M with a member of my club. I was able to make contact with him even though we are only about 25 miles apart. In fact, this makes my first legitimate WY contact. I want to try a little harder to make more contacts, and we might even try something where he and I attempt to communicate via FT8 across multiple bands to see what our short-range communication can do.
POTA Activations
During my POTA activation, I was hearing from people in Asia, Oceania, Europe, and all over the US. Unfortunately, unfortunetly I wasn't having much luck getting out. This POTA activation was one of my longest and also pretty disappointing. I only managed to make a couple of phone contacts and it was even difficult to make contacts on FT4 or FT8.
